SATURDAY, MARCH 21 [10–4 PM]
Participants will learn four variations on sewing a single-section book and explore creative covering combinations including sewn soft-covers, glued hard covers, and folded decorative paper wrappers. These structures are frequently used for binding zines, poetry chapbooks and other artist’s work produced in multiple copies.
Instructor: Lee Marchalonis is Signal-Return’s printer-in-residence. Lee has degrees in printmaking and book arts and has taught at Parsons the New School and the Center for Book Arts in New York and Pyramid Atlantic in Maryland. She has printed professionally at Yee-Haw Industries in Knoxville and at the Kala Institute in Berkeley.
