Have a favorite phrase, lyric, or motto that you want to print as a poster? This workshop teaches the basic techniques for composing wood type in order to make a bold text-based poster statement. In addition to learning how to work with type, attendees will gain knowledge in locking-up and printing their composition on a manual proof press. 

Instructor: Joel Grothaus is an artist and designer who also works as Shop Tech at Signal-Return. He graduated in 2010 from the College for Creative Studies with a BFA in Illustration.
