Saturday MAY 5 & SUNDAY MAY 6 [10-4 PM] • $200

Monotypes are one-of- a-kind prints created using a variety of materials including 2D objects such as textured fabric or plant leaves. Found or fabricated stencils can also be used. Various methods are used to create monotypes such as drawing and painting, and monotypes are often dubbed “painterly prints.” Day one of the workshop students will learn a variety of monotype methods and generate prints on Signal Return’s etching press. Day two students will learn to properly compose, lock-up, register and print their text onto the monotypes created in the previous class. Day one students should come prepared with any materials/images they would like to use for their monotypes. Day two students should come prepared with a phrase they would like to print! All materials included.
