LAPTOP TO LETTERPRESS: CUSTOM PHOTOPOLYMER Plate Prints

$200.00

Instructed by Laura Beyer (Hearty Greetings)

Friday, June 13th, 4-6pm (Optional)

Saturday, June 28th, 10am-4pm

Class Size: Maximum 8

Create your own letterpress prints using a printing plate you designed on your computer! Files can be any design of your choosing and can include text and image. Illustrations, high contrast or graphic images will work best to produce the printing plates. Maximum size of artwork is 5x7. See the reference images to get an idea of what artwork styles work best to translate to printing plates.

Students will meet on or submit their artwork by Friday, June 13th. In the initial meeting, we will look over the files and place a letterpress plate order for the class. Students will meet again on Saturday, June 28th to learn how to set up and print a set of twenty 8x10 prints from their custom printing plate.

Take your drawings or digital art to the next level by producing them into a set of prints!

Learn a new printmaking technique, enjoy a fun day of printing, or refine your letterpress skills!

Cost of workshop includes materials and instruction, photopolymer plates from Boxcar Press and paper from French Paper Company, a small Michigan Paper Mill around for more than 140 years.
