In this unique workshop participants will explore the creative design possibilities of letterpress printing through form, composition, and color.

Modular Futura Schmuck-inspired wood blocks will be printed on our Vandercook printing presses, using multiple impressions that can be arranged to create abstract assemblage prints.

The design possibilities are open-ended, encouraging creative problem-solving
in the bed of the press—each impression building on the one before.

Students will refine techniques in letterpress like repetition, ghost printing , different inking techniques , multi-layered printing and collaboration with peers.

Participants will walk away with 2-4 unique prints! 

Instructed by visiting artists Chris Fritton & Chris Chandler in conjunction with the closing of Flat Circle, their collaborative exhibition in the S-R Gallery.
